Sooraj Thapar shares his views on Bhai Bhaiya Aur Brother going off airVipul Amrutlal Shah and Deven Bhojani launched Productions’ Bhai Bhaiya aur Brother on SAB TV with much fanfare. Deven had a lot of expectations from the show. But only two months since its launch, Bhai is being pulled off air. Yes, due to constant low numbers, the channel has decided to pull the plug on it and the show will air its last episode on 10 August 2012.
What went wrong is the question in everybody’s mind? When we got in touch with Sooraj Thappar who essays the role of Anil Chawla (Bhai), he retorted, “Well the journey has been quite eventful and even sad. We really did not expecy this to happen. I and Jyotsna (Dimple Shah) were getting amazing response about the show. Our characters were well-defined and were loved by all.”
He continued, “Furthermore, usually things don’t go as planned. Deven and Vipul tried their best to modify the script and plot. We all believe that slot was a major issue. Other GECs have long running serials on that particular slot and I believe if the concept is good, nothing can go wrong. Sometimes it so happens that there is something that does not connect with the audiences.”
Does he regret taking up the show? “I don’t regret taking up this show as I believe as an actor, one should be open to doing various roles.”
He finally summed by stating, “The show will definitely end on a positive note. I wish things could have worked out but taking a project off air comes only when one can’t do anything about it.”
Here’s another serial that bites the dust.
