Default Jatin Shah is a disappointed man

Jatin Shah is disappointed with the early end of his Life Ok show Meri Maa. "We had high hopes and expected the show to last for three or four years, but sadly it wrapped up pretty quick," shared the actor with us.

When we asked him as to what went wrong... Jatin reasoned, "I guess the public just did not warm up to the concept of a mother (Sayantani Ghosh) looking for her lost daughter. The story was and still is a huge success as Maa in Star Jalsha (Bengali), but things did not work out here."

He also accepted the buzz going around that may be the production house, K Venkatesh Productions, erred in expecting the same story to work in a Hindi GEC setting without making the required changes.

"They only made cosmetic modifications and kept the basic setting the same. It was a call which the production house took in their wisdom."

However, Jatin is a very positive guy and prefers to look at the positives. "I got a chance to work with very senior artists like Bharti Achrekar and Parikshit Sahani and have learnt a lot from them. Even the production house guys were a very good unit to work with."

Looking ahead, Jatin who played both positive and negative character in Kasturi would love to work in a romantic saga "if given a chance". Since he mentioned romantic saga, we asked whether he was a romantic in real life too?

This question immediately made Jatin - whose short lived marriage with Priya Bhatija had floundered - got into a shell. He refused to give any answer saying, "I don’t want to talk about my personal life."

    Well, all the best, Jatin!!!
