Thread: Star Plus to add ‘Short Films’ to their weekend programming

Star Plus, the #1 GEC has always been innovative in their thought process when it comes to attempting something new. The news coming in is that the channel is now planning to air interesting and thought provoking short films as part of their weekend programming. Though the planning is still at its nascent stage, we hear that the channel is in talks with prominent production houses like Director’s Kut, BBC Entertainment, Sunshine Productions, Spellbound Productions, Playtime Creations, amongst others, for making short films.

When contacted, Rajan Shahi of Director’s Kut told us, “Yes, we are in talks with the channel for short films. But all is at an initial stage, and there is nothing to talk about.”

We tried to have a word with Pearl Grey of Spellbound Productions, and also with Hemal Thakkar of Playtime Creations, but could not get through to them.

Our efforts to get a confirmation from Gaurav Banerjee, VP and Content Head, Star India, were futile.
